treating panic attack

I did not find much writing on this aspect of the anxiety and I think it would be useful to give a brief description of what this means and how it works.

One of the problems is that panic attacks are repetitive and cyclical, often leading to a growing sense powerlessness in the person experiencing this condition. This process is known as "learned helplessness" and we sometimes forget to control anxiety when.

learned helplessness, despair is "and resignation when you've learned …. receives any control events constant bad "(Myers, 2002), negative events in our case are panic attacks. When a panic attack occurs the first person gets a sense of shock at what just happened with them, usually do not know what has happened and fears the same will happen again. This is while the seed if the next panic attack is planted and the cycle impotence.

As the cycle progresses Panic attacks, people tend to develop a couple of ways to deal with them: (a) prevention, (b) drugs / alcohol.

Prevention:

When a person suffers a panic attack to find a reason why it happened and perhaps also where it happened. It could have been on a bus or driving, perhaps when purchasing outside or in a restaurant. When it does not matter, what matters is the patient begins to panic attack associated with a particular situation and thus looking for ways to avoid going back to recreate the situation or circumstances which they believe triggered the attack. Say, just for example, a person has a panic attack in a restaurant, to start find reasons to stop eating out (oh, I am not hungry, I am on a diet, etc.), making excuses for themselves and others. And then a situation arises where you can not avoid going to a restaurant, maybe the boss has planned a meeting or whatever. What's the matter is that the level of those great concern increases, begin to anticipate a panic attack, with all the physical symptoms that agree with it, sweating, difficulty breathing, etc., and behold, what happens ?….. a panic attack, of course. The prediction came true people, who have been unable to avoid a panic attack when they entered the restaurant and their fear is strengthened and more efforts to avoid panic trigger the next time.

Drugs and alcohol:

Often, people turn to drugs or alcohol (or both) to stop or at least its symptoms. This medication may be prescribed by a doctor (Beta-blockers, tranquilizers, etc.), illegal drugs or fall of Dutch-value that can evolve into addiction. All These options carry risks with them and everyone can become part of the cycle of learned helplessness.

As the patient "learns" to avoid panic attacks through these strategies and become more hopeless of ever being able to change things and more resigned to his life is not improving not. This is because they have "learned" to believe that the only way to control your fear is for the avoidance or drug / alcohol and none of these strategies work for a long period, so that prevention should be more extreme and the use of drugs or alcohol may become dependent and the situation worsens, and the cycle just continues to grow.

Anxiety and panic attacks are horrible to live with and Prevention of pain is a natural human reaction. What I tried to talk about here is how to avoid it can become a Part of the problem if it takes a long time.

Once you experience a panic attack has them the rest of your life?

I had a stroke and I am now in treatment, but sometimes I feel that in the panic. It's a terrible feeling. Does this feeling ever disappear forever?

Anxiety leads to a panic attack "is a phenomenon associated with depression. Your brain becomes obsessed with an idea particular, and creates a "loop" is itself propagates. This well known and understood event. But he did understand and do something that is effective to treat the underlying cause is very different. Yes, Xanax, Valium and Hospitality cons anxiety pills to treat other symptoms but do nothing about the root cause. Anxiety can range from simple thoughts as how to compete with my wife received a problem of empty ask: "Did Jesus a brother?" in two seconds flat (It has to set some sort of speed record.) to a feeling of hopelessness, despair and extreme fear unfounded with psychosomatic symptoms. Dangerous? Absolutely. Doctors launch pads at the same time and only provide temporary relief, but who wants to walk "doping." Therapy with a psychotherapist, if you're good, will guide you through the process of relieving the real cause panic attacks. May God bless you and help you through this.
