Anxiety can sometimes be so debilitating that seem to take control of your life. For severe anxiety, a combination therapy and medication is recommended for therapy alone. Although no medication can eliminate forever any possibility of anxiety attack, there are several that can reduce symptoms and frequency of attacks.

Antidepressents

I n most cases, patients with anxiety disorders are prescribed an antidepressant. Antidepressants help to keep the physical symptoms associated with panic attacks, acceleration heart rate, flushing, sweating and increased breathing under control. They also work to reduce the fears of those who suffer emotional experience when one of these attacks. There are several different types of antidepressents, and are as follows:

(SSRI inhibitors Selective serotonin reuptake): types of newer antidepressants on the market. Serotonin is a chemical found in the brain, and an excess or shortage of the chemical involved in many psychological disorders. SSRIs work to match the levels of serotonin in the brain, promoting a sense of well-being and reduces anxiety levels.

Tricyclics: This class of drugs has been used successfully in the treatment of anxiety disorders, with the exception of obsessive compulsive disorder.

WAMI (monoamine oxidase): The oldest class of antidepressants. They are not as widely used today because they have more severe side effects than newer drugs, but are effective in treating anxiety disorders.

Whatever medication you and your doctor is best for you, consider that it often takes six weeks for antidepressants to really take effect. So do not give medication before giving him enough of a chance to do their work. With the right combination of therapies and medications you can take control of their life and anxiety.

Any suggestions for a way not prescribed to treat panic attacks and claustrophobia?

I cut the coffee, but realized that my anxiety attacks occur more often. I also very claustrophobic and tense situations curious as Waiting in a line-out or when people are too close. Rather not a prescription for the pill at all, but may have to look into the future. Are there any suggestions to reduce the problem? Like, herbs or breathing techniques, or a change of diet? And this is common with others?

Salts or lavender (I carried a bag around in his pocket and took out the smell when I felt stressed) – makes you feel less dizzy. Also breathing deep and focus on their Breath – Close your eyes and try to forget their surroundings to make you feel more relaxed. Reducing consumption is a good way go and sugary foods.
