Social anxiety disorder?

Hi, I am a wife of 16 years. So I was researching social anxiety disorder and I think I have. I wonder, What if I tell my doctor that I am concerned that I am suffering from social anxiety? me test? or talk to a therapist or someone? We must make a diagnosis?
