What diseases can cause the same symptoms as anxiety disorder?

I did a little research (to help a friend) who complains of being constantly dizzy and disoriented. He had a bout of panic in his car a few months ago and now every time you get on your car is on the suffering of others. However, dizziness and disorientation (which also sleep disorders) are constant, the car or not. His parents think it is anxiety but I'm not sure. What other diseases or conditions that cause the symptoms?
