Am I having panic attacks? What cause? What can I do to get rid of them?

Several times a day and some times in the past, I had a strange dizziness that I think the panic attacks. They have a duration of about half a minute, increasing the heart rate that lasts for ten to fifteen minutes. During the attacks, I have what can only be described as a feeling of impending disaster.
